Adam is Humanity's representative in the second round of Ragnarok, going against Zeus.

Adam is the progenitor of Humanity. He is the first Human to ever exist, being created in the image and likeness of the Gods. After being expelled from Paradise along with his wife Eve, the two descended to Earth and proceeded to give rise to Humanity.

He is believed to be "The Man Who Despises the Gods the Most" (最も神を憎む漢おとこ, Mottomo Kami o Nikumu Otoko) and "The Ultimate Survivalist" (正真正銘の拳骨ゲンコツ主義, Shōshinshōmei no Genkotsu Shugi).

Appearance

Adam takes the form of a young and muscular man with supreme beauty that even aroused the Gods. Adam has platinum-blond hair, and big sky blue eloquent eyes. When he lived in the Garden of Eden with Eve, he was fully naked, but when he was exiled to Earth, he covered his groin with a single classical fig leaf covering. He is often seen holding or eating an apple, and in his battle against Zeus, he wears a divine knuckleduster in his right hand.

Personality

Adam is said to define the very essence of a "man" and is described as being a "man among men".

Adam is a very calm, collected, and carefree individual; speaking to Zeus in a very casual manner, much to the chagrin of the other Gods present. He's even shown to be disrespectful of the latter like when he bit multiple apples and spit them on the floor, not caring about the Gods' concern. He was also quite confident in his capabilities, informing Zeus that he'd regret not using a weapon in their fight. Later, it is revealed that Adam holds no grudge against Heaven and the Gods, despite the fact the Serpent assaulted Eve and then framed her when he was elsewhere, resulting in Humanity's banishment from Eden. Adam is also ruthless in defending those dear to him, mercilessly striking down the Serpent and brutally attacking his creators.

Adam displayed selflessness to the highest degree, pushing himself past his limits in his fight against a God to give Humanity a bit of hope.

Adam's love for his children was strong enough that, even in a battle for his life, he only thought of protecting Humanity from anyone who'd try and do them harm.

In fact, Adam's desire to protect his descendants was so intense that, even after dying from the countless blows of Zeus, his body refused to fall and instead kept fighting on. Such raw endurance and strength of will were enough to put Zeus himself on his knees and even gain a bit of begrudging respect from the arrogant God. Even in death, he selflessly strove for victory, not for his sake but for that of his children, for all of mankind.

He is also shown to be somewhat merciful, like when he thought Zeus was going to forfeit.

Despite using only a fig leaf to cover himself, Adam never shows any embarrassment over his lack of clothing.

Abilities

Overall Abilities: As the first and original man created in the image and likeness of a God, Adam was considered by Brunhilde to be her "Trump Card" against the Gods. Adam might perhaps be the most powerful Human in history, being able to go toe to toe with and nearly defeating the chairman of the Gods' Council and champion of the Titanomachy, Zeus. Upon witnessing Adam's power, Ares shamefully admitted that he'd be no match for him, even if he were to train for a thousand years; Zeus himself also stated that if their battle was instead a contest of endurance and not a death match, Adam would've undoubtedly bested him.

Physical Abilities

Godlike Strength: Adam possesses immeasurable and unfathomable physical strength, capable of harming the likes of Zeus with his punches. With assistance from Divine Reflection, Adam was able to twist Zeus' neck with a single punch. Even without the usage of his special eyes, Adam was strong enough to break the floor of the Valhalla Arena, with his base strength alone, without putting any effort.

Godlike Speed & Reflexes: Adam possesses unparalleled speed and reflexes, no other character has been shown to be faster than him thus far. Adam was capable of dodging all of Zeus' attacks, which were being launched within a very small time-frame of 0.00000001 seconds. He was later able to dodge and counter Zeus' The Fist That Surpassed Time, a punch so fast and powerful that it is believed that time itself comes to a halt when it's use. The attack was launched within a very small time-frame of less than 0.000000000000000000001 seconds, and none of the other Gods were able to see it due to occurring in an instant. It is worth noting that Zeus himself is not able to dodge this attack, since both Adam and Kronos have managed to hit him with it and due to the very nature of this attack, thus far he is the only character capable of dodging The Fist That Surpassed Time.

Godlike Durability: Adam, despite still being just a Human, possesses unparalleled and unfathomable durability surpassing that of most Supreme Gods. Even after losing his eyesight and greatest weapon, Adam was capable of withstanding a barrage of attacks from Zeus and even managed to trade blows with him. Those attacks were from Zeus' True God's Right, which were described as being an unavoidable one-hit kill by Brunhilde. Despite Zeus being stated to be powerful enough to destroy the entirety of Heaven in his Adamas form, Adam was capable of taking multiple hits from the King of the Gods.

Godlike Endurance & Stamina: Adam has displayed immeasurable and unparalleled endurance and stamina, he was capable of exerting himself far beyond his physical and mental limits. Throughout the duration of his fight with a God, Adam never showed any signs of fatigue, despite the countless blows exchanged during the fight. Even after being hit multiple times during his match and even losing his eyesight, Adam still managed to stay conscious and continue fighting while showing little to no signs of pain.

Godly Beauty: As a being created in the image of the Gods, Adam possesses divine beauty and is far more attractive than most mortals. He is so beautiful that even the Goddess of Beauty, Aphrodite, appreciated his naked appearance.

Mental Abilities

Indomitable Will: Adam possessed the strongest will of mankind as stated by Brunhilde; he never once faltered in his battle, always remaining steadfast in the face of Zeus's onslaught. His powerful willpower grants him immense pain tolerance and allows him to exert himself beyond his limits, allowing him to continue fighting even after becoming blind.

• Lifeless Continuation: Adam's will is so strong, that he is able to continue fighting even after death. This was seen during his fight against Zeus, where after being killed by one of his blows, he still managed to continue attacking the God for several more seconds. After making Zeus give up and get on his knees, Adam's body refused to fall and continue to stand up (even while the body was being disintegrated and send to Niflhel). It is possible that Adam's body would have continue fighting until Zeus gave up, regardless of how much time this would have taken.

Keen Intellect: Adam was skilled and smart enough to use strategies in order to gain an advantage in battle, managing to trick Zeus into punching him so he could accurately catch the position of the former when blind.

Enhanced Charisma: Adam has displayed immense charisma, through his noble ambitions and determination he managed to touch the hearts of all of Humanity, making them put their differences aside and pray for his victory. This feat was so impressive that even the prideful Gods praised him for it.

Fighting Abilities

Master Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Adam possesses a natural talent in the art of unarmed combat, making him capable of defeating most opponents despite having little to no training. He was able to compete with Zeus, who is also a very skilled unarmed combatant, and managed to copy multiple of his techniques (with the assistance from Divine Reflection). While he seems to prefer using his fists, to the point that his Völundr weapon became a knuckleduster, Adam is more than capable of using his legs in order to defeat his opponents.

Supernatural Abilities

Golden Age: As a Human soul in the afterlife, Adam possesses the appearance and skills that he had during his Golden Age, the age in which he was at his peak.

Animal Intuition: As the first man, Adam was created to rule over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground. Because of this, most animals appear to be naturally friendly towards Adam. This was best seen during his entrance in the second round, where a bunch of animals (both carnivores and herbivores) helped him make his entrance. Another example was seen during his time in the Garden of Eden, where Adam was able to rest on top of a bear while a variety of wild animals peacefully surrounded him. Adam also seems to be capable of talking with animals, since he was able to learn that the Serpent had molested Eve from two birds.

Divine Reflection

Divine Reflection (神かみ虚うつ視し, Kamiutsushi): As a man designed in the image of God, Adam was gifted with the ability to perfectly replicate any move and technique he lays his eyes upon, including the ones used by divine beings. Regardless of its speed or power, Adam can evade any attack whilst simultaneously countering his attacker with their own move. This ability was so incredibly potent that Adam was even able to copy and utilize Zeus's time-surpassing punch after only seeing it a single time.

In the anime, Adam can instantly morph his biology in order to replicate attacks properly, such as when he copied the Serpent's attack: his hands grew three times in size, gained black-green scales and sharp bone claws. However, despite their seemingly unbeatable nature, the Divine Reflection do have their limits; seeing through his opponents attacks puts a certain amount of strain on Adam's nervous system. If Adam pushes his eyes to their limits, he will start to overheat and if Adam chooses to continue he runs at the risk of becoming blind (bleeding through his nose, eyes and ears in the process), making him incapable of using Divine Reflection. Zeus, realizing that no singular move of his could best Adam, instead settled for a war of attrition and unleashed an endless onslaught of blows focused solely on overworking Adam's greatest weapons to the point of disabling it, a task which he eventually succeeded in. It's unknown if Adam can permanently learn the techniques he copies or if they have a limited lifespan.

Techniques

	The Serpent's Claws: Adam once copied the Serpent's attack while he was in his true form. The attack made Adam's hands and nails powerful enough to easily cut through the Serpent's own flesh and bones. In the anime, Adam's hands grew three times in size, gained black-green scales and sharp bone claws.
	Meteor Jab (黄昏流星群メテオ　ジャブ, Meteo Jabu): Adam unleashes a continuous barrage of rapid-fire punches, with each punch the speed increases by tenfold (starting of at 0.01 seconds and eventually reaching 0.00000001 seconds) in order to completely and utterly overwhelm his opponent.
	Divine Axe (神の斧, Kami no Ono): Adam unleashes an extremely swift and powerful leg sweep that can easily bisect his opponent's body.
	The Fist That Surpassed Time (時を超える拳, Toki o Koeru Ken): Adam gathers all his strength and punches with so much force, that time itself seems to stop. This attack is launched within a very small time-frame of less than 1e-20 of a second, though the exact figure is not shown fully.
	True God's Right (真・神の右, Shin Kami no Migi): Adam unleashes a straight punch that harbors the entirety of his godlike might. He can then follow up with another punch and repeat this at blinding speeds, launching a never-ending barrage of attacks. While Adam is capable of replicating and countering the attacks from this technique, it requires that he uses Divine Reflection non-stop, which takes an enormous toll on his eyes, to the point where he would eventually become blind. Despite its name, it can actually be executed with either fist.

Equipment

Knuckleduster (メリケンサック, Merikensakku): Adam uses a Divine Weapon in the form of a knuckleduster provided by the Völundr of the 7th Valkyrie, Reginleif. The knuckleduster possesses a silver color, with each knuckle having a pointy tip. It is the perfect weapon for Adam, who is described as having a natural talent for unarmed combat. Adam chooses to wear the brass knuckle on his right hand. It is unknown what kind of special ability it grants to its user, apart from the basic one in every Divine Weapon of being able to harm godly beings.

Trivia

• While his current age is unknown, Adam is at least over 7 million years old. This is due to the fact that it was stated that humanity has existed for at least 7,000,000 years before the events of Ragnarok.
  • Being the first human, Adam is the oldest of all the Einherjar.
• The painting "The Creation of Adam" was reference multiple times during his fight against Zeus. The original painter Michelangelo also appeared during the fight.
• Despite eating multiple apples through out the series, Adam appears to hate their taste (saying that they are too sour).
