Before the tenth round begins, Isami Kondo is standing by himself among Humanity's crowd in front of a Shinsengumi flag. At that moment, other members from the Shinsengumi approach him, with Shinpachi Nagakura greeting Isami. As they all start to gather around, Shinpachi sighs about how Soji Okita's turn has finally come and Isami remarks on how the chance to fight against a God one-on-one is the highest honor for a samurai. Hajime Saito says they were made to wait long enough and believes it doesn't matter who Soji's opponent is – Hajime has full faith Soji will slaughter them. The others agree with him, much to Isami's joy, only for him to realize "Toshi" isn't here. He asks where he is and the others express their exasperation by immediately sighing.
Shinpachi reveals Toshi is pissed that he wasn't the one chosen to represent Humanity and is off pouting like a brat. Keisuke Yamanami adds that he would want to cheer for Soji more than anyone else, guessing he can't be honest. Isami smiles at how Toshi is just as much a sore loser as always and Shinpachi jokes that even death couldn't cure him of that, making the rest of the Shinsengumi laugh. On one of the mountain peaks surrounding the outside of the Valhalla Arena, laying down on a rock, Toshizo Hijikata begins to cough and sighs about how lonely he is. He sits up and as he looks at one of the giant monitors that are broadcasting the stage, Toshizo tells Soji to win.
