Expulsion from Paradise is the 10th chapter of the "Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Record of Ragnarok" manga series.
Summary[]
Some time after Zeus and Adam's fight, someone would interview Ares to ask about what happened in that moment. Ares decides to be frank and mentions how he's a God of War, thus he's well-versed in battle. When it comes to Zeus' Meteor Jab and Divine Axe, many Gods will barely see a shadow of the movement while Ares can see it clearly.
Yet in that moment, even though he was fixated on the fight, all Ares saw was this: in one moment, Zeus was raising his fist and in the next moment, his head was facing the wrong way. In the present, Heimdall questions what just happened, looking at a lying-down Zeus and a standing Adam. Breaking his teacup, Ares also questions what happened as he didn't take his eyes off the fight for even an instant. Hermes says that the Human's power far surpassed their expectations and explains that, when Zeus used The Fist That Surpassed Time, at the same moment, or rather, just a moment later, Adam used Divine Reflection to copy Zeus' technique, avoid his fist and deliver a punch of his own.
Ares suddenly picks Hermes up by the collar and wonders if he really saw that when Ares, a God of War and Hermes' older brother, could not. Hermes assures him that was just his guesswork before threateningly addressing him as his brother. With a chill down his spine, Ares puts Hermes down and admits that the only thing he does know is that, even if he were able to train for 1000 years, he would still be no match for Adam
Looking down on Zeus, Adam mentions how he told him he'd regret not using a weapon. Heimdall checks on Zeus' condition and declares that he's down for the count, much to the shock of the Gods. Göll exclaims Adam is too strong and questions what he is since he was not only able to copy Zeus' attack but it was even stronger than the original. Brunhilde reminds Göll that she said the source of Adam's power is his conviction and his hatred towards the Gods. Long ago, in the Garden of Eden, Adam lies atop a sleeping bear, eating from a vine of grapes as multiple other animals also sleep nearby. Adam used to live in peace alongside his fellow creations in the Garden of Eden until one fateful day. In Heaven's Court, Eve is accused by the Serpent of having eaten an apple from the Tree of Knowledge.
Eve swears she didn't do it but the Serpent claims he saw her eat it. In truth, at the Tree of Knowledge, the Serpent assaulted Eve and tried to test her faith to Adam by making her his. As he molested her, he told her to surrender to him. Nearby birds who noticed what's happening, flew in the Serpent's face, distracting him. This allowed Eve to push the Serpent away and run. Angered she rejected him, the Serpent took an apple from the Tree of Knowledge and bit into it. At Heaven's Court, the Serpent presents the bitten apple as evidence that Eve ate from the Tree of Knowledge.
At Heaven's Court, in which every position was filled by Gods, the possibility that Humans would be found guilty was 99.99999%. Meaning despite the forged evidence, the Gods don't hesitate in calling for her banishment to Earth. Eve laments over the possibility of being separated from Adam. Snickering, the Serpent inwardly tells Eve if she won't be his, then she isn't needed here. Suddenly, the doors to Heaven's Court opens and a guard walks in. The judges tell him to leave as court is still in session, only for the guard to fall down, unconscious and after he does, Adam walks in. To everyone's surprise, Adam is carrying two baskets, filled with apples from the Tree of Knowledge.
As Adam walks forward, the Serpent tells Adam to leave as his kind isn't welcome, only for Adam to bite into an apple and immediately spit it out. He continues taking a bite from each apple in the basket and discarding them as he walks. After Adam gets close to Eve and finishes taking a bite out of each apple, the Serpent gets in-between them, telling Adam it's pointless to try and defend Eve. Ignoring him, Adam outstretches his hand and tells Eve that if she is going, then he's coming with her.
Touched, Eve begins crying and hugging Adam. Angered, the Serpent prepares to attack for ruining his revenge.
Adam reveals the birds told him what the Serpent did and the Serpent lunges at Adam, swearing to send the happy couple to dust. Adam uses Divine Reflection and changes his hands into the Serpent's claws. The two clash and Adam ends up winning, severing the limbs of the Serpent. As Adam's hands turn back to normal, Eve apologizes for making Adam do this for her. Adam insists he did it for them both and takes her by the hand, telling Eve they'll go live in their own paradise.
In the present, Eve shouts from the stands, congratulating Adam on his supposed victory. Göll says it looks like they're even with Round 2 and Brunhilde admits that though Zeus' entrance gave her a scare, it all worked out in the end. Better yet, the one most in her way is gone and Brunhilde can't contain her smile. Humanity congratulate Adam on getting his revenge, which the First Man seems to be bothered by. As Adam starts to leave, Heimdall is about to declare Round 2 his victory, only for Zeus to get back up and interrupt Heimdall, revealing he isn't done yet. Zeus snaps his head back into place and the Gods and Ares cheer him on. Looking carefully, Hermes says that Zeus is definitely feeling it now.
Still casually addressing Zeus as "Pops", Adam tells him not to go pushing himself too hard. Huffing, Zeus admits that Adam's casual speech really wasn't just for show before revealing Adam has piqued his interest.
Zeus says he has just one question for Adam and points out that he can't feel any hatred for the Gods in Adam's eyes, no matter how many times he looks.
Thus, Zeus wonders why Adam even decided to participate in Ragnarok to begin with. Sighing, Adam comments on how Zeus thought so too. He complains about how everyone says the same things before revealing he doesn't need anything like hatred or revenge, triumphantly questioning if there's any man who needs a reason to protect his children.
