Overflowing Love is the 12th chapter of the "Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Record of Ragnarok" manga series.
Summary[]
Adam begins bleeding from his nose. Göll questions what's happened to him and Brunhilde exclaims that he's begun to overheat. She reveals that, though they don't look like it, each one of Zeus' blows in Adamas would ordinarily be a one-shot kill. Meaning, for this entire fight, Adam has been straining Divine Reflection to its very limit, just to copy Zeus' death blows and avoid them. By constantly copying so many killer attacks, Adam would be putting his entire nervous system under pressure, meaning the longer this fight goes on, Adam will lose. Brunhilde frustratingly admits she didn't think Zeus would circumvent Divine Reflection through a battle of attrition. Meanwhile, Loki explains the same thing to Huginn & Muninn. When the ravens believe Zeus' victory is all but assured, Loki tells them to look closer.
Zeus' flesh begins deforming and Loki says that Zeus can't keep taking those blows head-on forever, believing Zeus will also reach his limit soon. When Loki is given two glasses and a bottle of wine, he uses his power to turn the glasses into the faces of Zeus and Adam.
Filling those glasses to the brim with wine, Loki says that their bodies are filled to the top with all their spirit and is intrigued to see whose spirit will spill over first. After Adam lands another blow, the wine in Zeus' glass almost tips over and Loki observes that they're at peak tension.
All that is left is a trigger and the dam will start coming down. In spite of the fact that a mere graze could be fatal, Zeus and Adam continued to exchange attacks, blow-for-blow. Loki sighs about how neither are giving an inch and at the sight of such a fight, both Humanity and the Gods could only stay silent. Both crowds found themselves resonating as one. Ares tells Hermes that he never thought a fight could be so beautiful and Hermes agrees.
Göll can't stop crying and Brunhilde clenches her fist. The Gods begin cheering on Zeus and in return, Humanity begins cheering on Adam. Shiva yells for Zeus not to give in and the two keep exchanging volley after volley of blows. Eve grows worried and Abel asks Zeus to let Adam win. Cain clenches his fist and inwardly begs Zeus to just go down already.
A vast majority of events in the world are not the result of plans and ambitions. Rather, it is due to a combination of small, insignificant triggers. Whether it's various forms of sickness, or technological or cultural revolution. Everything of value in people's lives is caused by an infinity of tiny triggers. After Adam lands a punch, Zeus spews up blood. Tiny drops of that blood then end up going into Adam's eyes, resulting in Divine Reflection completely shutting down from being overheated. Because of this, Zeus lands a punch. Adam gets back up but Zeus punches him again.
The tides turn as Adam is forced to stay on the defensive and cross his forearms to take on Zeus' blows. As Göll shouts for Adam, Brunhilde realizes Adam has gone blind and cannot see anything anymore. Licking the spilt wine from Adam's cup, Loki states that Adam was the first to spill. Huginn says this is the end and while Muninn agrees, he adds that Adam has shown them that he's one hell of a guy. As Zeus keeps punching Adam, Brunhilde realizes this is it. Eve begs for this to stop and Abel shouts for Adam to stop as well. Crying, Cain yells for Adam to stop fighting and just come back. All of Humanity shouts for Adam to come back to them but Adam only focuses on the fact that he can hear a baby crying. He tries to assure the baby that his father will take care of all the scary things, only for his guard to go down, allowing Zeus to punch his face. As he falls back, Adam reaches for and grabs onto Zeus' hair.
When Adam says he found him, even Odin shivers as the Gods realize Adam let Zeus hit his face so that he could grab Zeus. The two then continue punching each other as both crowds grow silent. After a long, painful silence, the pains and groans came to an end. Zeus falls to the ground, turning back to normal. When Zeus says it's over, Humanity begin to cheer as they think Adam has won, only for Heimdall to announce that Adam is already dead, yet still standing. Zeus reveals that Adam was dead long before he hit the ground but even after Adam died, he just kept on swinging. Zeus tells Adam that he managed to put this old geezer on his ass and admits he's one hell of a Human, even saying had this just been a battle of endurance, Adam would've surely won. The knuckleduster crumbles and both Adam and Reginleif die as their bodies become dust, only leaving the fig leaf behind. With a time of 7 minutes and 13 seconds, Round 2 of Ragnarok ends with Zeus' victory, making it the Gods' second win.
