Secret Technique is the 17th chapter of the "Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Record of Ragnarok" manga series.
Summary[]
Upon seeing his secret technique, Ares can't believe that Kojiro Sasaki managed to outspeed Poseidon while Hermes stays silent. As he stands still, Poseidon displays an upset expression, causing Kojiro to smile. Iori Miyamoto is in awe as he has finally seen the legendary Tsubame Gaeshi with his own eyes. Musashi Miyamoto suddenly hisses in pain and touches the cross-shaped scar on his face.
On May 13, 1612 AD, on the island of Funashima (later known as Ganryu Island), Kojiro and Musashi face off against each other on the shoreline. The two moved in to attack and Kojiro immediately started with his Tsubame Gaeshi, catching Musashi off-guard and giving him a scar over his right eye. In the present, Musashi tells Poseidon not to look down on a man who they consider to be unrivaled under the heavens.
Humanity cheer for Kojiro and Göll silently cheers on Hrist. Kojiro says that the Monohoshizao he's wielding is one, truly fitting his tastes, as it's revealed that Kojiro did Völundr with Hrist. To the shock of the Gods, Poseidon begins to walk towards Kojiro. After a few steps, Poseidon launches Amphitrite, thrusting his trident at Kojiro over multiple times in a spiraling pattern.
However, Kojiro starts to weave between the attacks and occasionally parries them with his blade. Göll is surprised that Kojiro can read Poseidon's moves and asks if he has special eyes like Adam. Brunhilde states it's not that Kojiro is seeing through Poseidon's moves: he's already experienced them. Göll questions how since this is the first time they met but Brunhilde calls that irrelevant since when Kojiro was alive, he would lose and then proceed to beat those opponents in his head. Ever since Poseidon entered the arena, Kojiro began studying him. From his gait to his breathing, even the way Poseidon blinks.
With all of that information, Kojiro created an image of Poseidon within his own head. And then, up until the moment Kojiro made the first move, he battled with that image of Poseidon countless times over, predicting what kind of attacks Poseidon would use and how he could counter them. Göll exclaims he did that in such a short time and Brunhilde says that if Adam can be considered the ultimate counter, then Kojiro is the ultimate scanner. It doesn't matter how many attacks there are or how fast they are. He'll simulate the following move and avoid it. He's completely mastered the ability to read the finest details of his opponent in the midst of battle – that is what is known as Senju Musō. Poseidon continues his onslaught but Kojiro keeps dodging and parrying, noting to himself that he's seen all these attacks.
Poseidon stops and Humanity cheer on Kojiro while the Gods wonder how he escaped Poseidon's barrage. In shock that he can read a God's moves, Ares questions what's wrong with these Humans who've reached the peak.
At the same time, Loki wonders why all these Humans excite him so much. Poseidon suddenly chuckles and begins whistling, much to Kojiro's confusion. Hermes recalls how Poseidon did this when he killed Adamas. As Poseidon leans forward, Kojiro tries predicting what he'll do next, only for Poseidon to move even faster than in Kojiro's simulation of him, resulting in Poseidon stabbing Kojiro's side, drawing blood. Poseidon asks Kojiro what's wrong as he thought the swordsman was capable of reading every one of his moves. This was the first time that this God had ever spoken to a Human. Sadistically smiling, Poseidon calls Kojiro a piece of scum.
