Exchange is the 32nd chapter of the "Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Record of Ragnarok" manga series.
Summary[]
As Shiva stretches, his first wife, Parvati cheers him on, alongside his second wife, Kali. Standing proud, Shiva's third wife, Durga states that a Human won't last long against their Shiva.
Shiva's son, Ganesha, yells in support for his father. Shiva asks if Raiden Tameemon is ready to be annihilated, only to notice a frog holding a basket of salt next to Raiden. Shiva asks what this is about.
The frog meekly apologizes, insisting he'll get out of the way soon. As Raiden picks up a handful of salt, Shiva guesses this is some kind of rikishi ritual and lets it go ahead. Taking in a breath, Raiden throws the salt into the air. As he looks down from the destroyed viewing room, Hermes recalls a few moments earlier. Loki mentioned how Ares has been at the restroom for a long while and Hermes proposed that he still hasn't finished crying over Heracles' death.
Loki then said he was going for a walk and Zeus decided to go for a walk too. However, Hermes noticed that they were releasing murderous auras while going away. Hermes sighs about how they're all such bad liars. As the Japanese crowd begin getting restless, Raiden claps, causing a strong gust of wind.
He tells Shiva he's now ready and Shiva begins getting excited that he gets to fight a "Peerless Rikishi". Raiden starts off and charges in. However, instead of leading with a sumo move, the Peerless Rikishi attacked Shiva with a flying dropkick. As Shiva gets knocked back, the Gods question if this is what is known as sumo while Humanity's crowd are confused since it isn't. At the destroyed viewing room, Ares comments on how they sent a bold Human to fight Shiva. Hermes asks if he's finished crying and as he sits down on his seat, Ares asserts he wasn't crying, despite having puffy eyes.
Performing a backflip, Shiva gets on his feet but is initially dizzy. Noting he really felt that, Shiva guesses this may have been worth waiting for after all.
Raiden suddenly charges back in and punches with his left fist. Shiva counters with his lower right hand and says Raiden's underestimating him. Raiden then swings his right fist, hitting Shiva's face with a mighty Russian hook. Shiva falls to his knees and Raiden grabs his face, declaring it's over. He proceeds to seemingly knee in Shiva's head. Parvati and Ganesha cover their eyes, only to see that Shiva blocked Raiden's knee with his arms. After knocking Raiden off-balance, Shiva grips onto his arms using his upper arms and uses his lower arms to punch Raiden in the chest. Shouting about how this is what a brawl should be, Shiva judo throws Raiden up into the air. After Raiden manages to land safely, he sighs since he thought he had Shiva there.
Shiva says the same thing, prompting Raiden to realize this won't be as easy as he thought it would be. Shiva points out Raiden has some spirit and calls him an interesting guy. Letting out another big sigh, Raiden calls this a pain. Heimdall exclaims this beginning exchange doesn't leave a clue as to what will happen now and asserts that the clashing between the mixed martial arts of the Gods and Humans is what Ragnarok is all about.
As both crowds cheer on their representatives, Kajinosuke Tanikaze says "Tarōkichi" is the same as ever but Kisaburo Onogawa reminds him that he's called Raiden now. Hokusai Katsushika passionately draws the two contestants and yells for them to keep giving him inspiration. As they all cheer, elsewhere, a man walks through the inner areas of the arena, sucking on a lollipop. In a garden-like area, Loki sits down on the edge of a fountain. When the man from earlier arrives, Loki claims he's been waiting for him, revealing the man to be Buddha. Taking the lollipop out of his mouth, Buddha questions if Loki wants to have a brawl too. Back at the fight, Shiva insists they should keep dancing until they die.
Raiden wonders why everyone always gets so pumped up about stuff like this and Shiva questions who wouldn't, calling a fistfight between two people fun. Drawing back his right hand, Raiden declares he'll be letting loose now.
