Divergent Agendas is the 34th chapter of the "Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Record of Ragnarok" manga series.

Summary[]

As Buddha, Kojiro Sasaki, Soji Okita and Isami Kondo face off against Loki and the Seven Lucky Gods, Isami notices Kojiro's bandages and asks if he's alright.

Soji Okita

Soji Okita intends to slice Loki down

Kojiro asserts he's fine and calls the doctors here amazing as they even patched up his stomach wound. Loki says Kojiro should've stayed in his bed without poking his nose into other people's business, warning Kojiro that he may die. Kojiro says that the Gods are all selfish to the end as they believe everything will go their way, only for Loki to say he'll make it go his way. Soji tells Isami that he believes Loki to be a bad God and asks if it's okay for him to cut Loki down. Isami simply tells Soji to stay true to himself.

Loki attempts to charge in, only for Ebisu to stop him. He requests for Loki to leave Buddha to him as he has to get back at Buddha for humiliating him. He asks Buddha if he agrees and when Buddha only yawns, Ebisu fires four bullets at him, point-blank.

Buddha avoids

Buddha avoids Ebisu's bullets

However, Buddha easily flows to the side and the bullets destroy the fountain behind him. Fukurokuju questions where Ebisu was aiming while Buddha smirks, telling Ebisu he can't break stuff like that, remarking on how puberty's rough. In shock, Ebisu inwardly questions how Buddha managed to dodge the bullets and begins to think about how Buddha moved, when Loki puts his hand on Ebisu's shoulder. Commenting on how that's expected of Buddha, Loki summons dual-chained hooks from the small black circles on his gloves and tells Buddha that he should just disappear.

When Loki charges in, Kojiro, Soji and Isami prepare to defend Buddha, only for the ground to be broken by a fist. Sighing, Zeus says that they've got too much energy as Odin stands by. Zeus says that they shouldn't be infighting at a time like this and Huginn & Muninn agree. As Soji comments on how cute the talking birds are, Ebisu attempts to tell Zeus and Odin that they don't have any jurisdiction over them as they're Heaven's executioners.

Angry Odin

Odin and Zeus expel a large amount of pressure to defuse the growing conflict

This results in Odin staring them down, telling them to cease their squabbles. At the same time, Odin expels a large pressure, which spook the Seven Lucky Gods (save for Bishamonten) and Isami, who tries to keep Soji away. Loki suddenly sneezes and moans about how that made him lose all motivation. He begins to walk back to the arena to continue viewing the fight before warning Buddha. The Seven Lucky Gods also exit, with Bishamonten reminding Buddha that they will kill any traitors. Sheathing his sword, Soji calls that a boring conclusion but Isami pats his head, telling him these things happen. Isami and Soji plan to go back to their room to observe the match, and they invite Kojiro.

Kojiro accepts, admitting he was pretending to be completely fine, before apologizing to Buddha for butting in on his fun. After the swordsmen leave, Zeus orders Buddha to go back to his room and warns him not to start any more fights.

Buddha Quote

"The only one that can move me... on Heaven or Earth... is me."

Sucking on a new lollipop, Buddha pretends to snore before laughing. Zeus joins in on his laughter before Buddha breaks the lollipop in his mouth again. Spitting the stick onto the ground, Buddha walks past Zeus, asserting that the only one who can move him, in all of Heaven and Earth, is him. After Buddha leaves, Zeus sighs about how troublesome he is before remarking to Odin that this Ragnarok hasn't been going as expected. Zeus then runs off to watch the match as well. After a few moments, Odin suddenly smirks and causes the nearby plant life to wither away and die, much to the fright of Huginn & Muninn. At the destroyed viewing room, Zeus walks up to Ares and Hermes, and asks how the fight is proceeding. As Ares looks down, wide-eyed and with a gaped mouth, Hermes shrugs his shoulders and tells Zeus to see for himself.

Zeus looks down and witnesses Shiva's lower left arm hanging off as Heimdall declares that Shiva has been overwhelmed by Raiden Tameemon.
