Thirteen Gods and Thirteen Humans is the 4th chapter of the "Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Record of Ragnarok" manga series.
Summary[]
According to the prose of Edda, Mjölnir is one of the strongest Divine Weapons, capable of even shattering Earth. As if it's lava itself, power overflows from it, capable of bringing destruction to even its wielder. Thus, Thor wears the Járngreipr to protect himself from the power of Mjolnir.

One of Thor's Járngreipr is broken by Lü Bu
Járngreipr is the perfect foil to Mjolnir and is considered to be Heaven's strongest garment. At the fight, Heimdall declares that Lü Bu's Sky Piercer was able to completely shatter Járngreipr to bits. Liu Bei and Zhang Fei cheer for Lü Bu.
Zhang Fei drunkily asking how the Gods like that. Guan Yu warns him not to celebrate too early before admitting that as one who shared the same era as Lü Bu, he cannot deny the burning pride in his chest. Lü Bu's army all cheer for him as well, with Chen Gong crying about how Lü Bu is enjoying himself, saying that there was truly meaning in dying with him. The rest of Humanity also begin cheering for Lü Bu, as for the first time in Humanity's history, they had surpassed their creators. Meanwhile, Hermes also realizes what's happening and recalls how the Valkyries' duty is to guide souls. They descend upon the Earth, take note of Humanity's finest warriors and lead them to Valhalla, for the sake of forming an army for the Gods.

Hermes goes over how Völundr works
But since ancient times, a certain rumor has floated around Heaven. That the Valkyries weren't creating an army for the Gods. Rather, the warriors summoned to Valhalla bond with the Valkyries and the Valkyries would turn into a fitting weapon for those warriors. In exchange for the Valkyrie granting their wielders the power of a God, the warriors would offer up their own being. This exchange is what is known as Völundr. Meaning the warriors that were gathered for this Ragnarok, were summoned for the sake of fighting against the Gods. Lü Bu thrusts his Sky Piercer forward and Thor just narrowly dodges before sustaining a cut to his right shoulder. Zeus angrily states that this is an open rebellion against the Gods. He then happily yells about how this must be the greatest thrill he's felt since the Big Bang.
Zeus lewdly stares at Brunhilde and while Göll is freaked out, Brunhilde tells the "geezer" to not look her way. Suddenly, both fighters pause as they and the crowd notice that Mjolnir is seemingly melting. Göll realizes the orichalcum is melting like lava and Heimdall notes that it's white-hot, just like the legends. He then wonders if Thor can even use Mjolnir, now that he has lost one side of Járngreipr. After he says that, a large beating can be heard, resounding across the air.

Mjölnir awakens
Heimdall realizes that Mjolnir is pulsing and Thor says that Mjolnir is finally awake. Veins suddenly appear from under Mjolnir and as Göll freaks out about it being alive, Zeus chuckles about how Mjolnir has finally woken up. Zeus explains to a confused Hermes that there is a slight misunderstanding in the legends surrounding Mjolnir and Járngreipr. The gloves don't exist to protect Thor from Mjolnir – rather, they exist to protect Mjolnir from the full weight of Thor's swings before it awakens. Thor takes off his other glove and sighs about how Mjolnir is such a sleepyhead.
Picking Mjolnir up with one hand, Thor says he has one request for Lü Bu. As lightning sparks from Mjolnir, Thor asks an excited Lü Bu not to die so quickly. Brunhilde gets a notification on her phone and reveals to Göll that the contestants for Ragnarok have been finalized.

The list of representatives of Humans and Gods in Ragnarok
Göll then sees the list. Fighting for the Gods are Zeus, Buddha, Loki, Apollo, Poseidon, Susano'o no Mikoto, Thor, Bishamonten, Anubis, Odin, Beelzebub, Shiva and Heracles. Fighting for Humanity are Qin Shi Huang, Leonidas, Nikola Tesla, Kojiro Sasaki, Raiden Tameemon, Adam, Grigori Rasputin, Lü Bu, Soji Okita, Michel Nostradamus, Simo Häyhä, Sakata Kintoki and Jack the Ripper. When Göll says these final thirteen will decide Humanity's fate, Brunhilde declares that they will one day, be known as the Einherjar.
