On the Brink is the 42nd chapter of the "Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Record of Ragnarok" manga series.
Summary[]

Sumo wrestlers perform Shiko to pay tribute to Raiden Tameemon
Heimdall declares that, after a fierce clash, the winner of Round 5 of Ragnarok, is none other than Shiva. As the Hindu Gods cheer, a visibly exhausted Shiva begins making his way to the exit. Ares says that, though Shiva won, he ended up losing three arms doing so. Not to mention the fact that the fight was very close. Ares begins wondering what would've happened if Raiden Tameemon hadn't been so adamant about doing sumo and Hermes says the exact opposite would've happened. If Raiden kept fighting with his anything-goes style like from the beginning, then no matter how unnatural his strength was, he would've been no match for Heaven's greatest brawler. It was only because of sumo, honed through a daunting amount of discipline, that Raiden was able to drive Shiva that far up against the wall. The sumo wrestlers begin crying over Raiden's death but Kajinosuke Tanikaze and Kisaburo Onogawa begin performing Shiko.
Smiling, Kajinosuke wonders what's the matter with them and tells them that since Raiden gave it all with the sumo he loved, sending him out crying is out of the question.

Rudra catches Shiva while he is falling to the ground from too many wounds
With tears streaming down his face, Kajinosuke keeps smiling while Kisaburo also cries, telling them that they should grace Raiden's exit from the stage. The sumo wrestlers begin performing Shiko as Ken Seki, Hanemon Seki, Genpaku Sugita and Hokusai Katsushika cry. It is said that the rikishis' Shiko, that were like a funeral bell for the late Raiden Tameemon, echoed throughout the halls of Valhalla for ages to come. Hearing the sound, Shiva notes that a good man always had good company. Rudra then appears and greets Shiva. Shiva attempts to greet him back but begins falling forward. Catching him, Rudra says he was reckless and Shiva asks who's fault that was. Watching, Brahma is surprised Shiva can still smile like that but Varuna says this is how it always is.

Shiva tells Zeus that he considers Humans to be very strong
Agni calls him a fool. Vishnu admits it's hard to keep looking after a klutz like him. Chuckling, Indra says he's more of a brat. Approaching, Zeus observes how Shiva took quite the beating. Shiva admits he was barely hanging in there before telling Zeus that Humanity are pretty strong, which Zeus agrees with, calling it an undeniable fact. Meanwhile, Brunhilde and Göll walk down a corridor. Göll recalls how Thrud called her a cutie for being as small as she is and Göll admitted that she always wanted to be as big and strong as her sister.

Brunhilde, despite admitting that she is weaker than she thought, promises to save Humanity
Thrud told her not to be and joked that she'll scare all the men away. Göll remarks on how Thrud must've been happy to die with the one she loved before beginning to bawl her eyes out. Brunhilde says Göll's name and the young Valkyrie claims she knows she shouldn't be crying since this is all to save Humanity but she just can't help herself. Göll asks why Brunhilde is going so far to save Humanity. Brunhilde reminds her of Adam's words: "Is there any man who needs a reason to protect his own children?" Brunhilde then proceeds to slam her fist against the wall in anger, resulting in her hand bleeding. Entering the memorial room, Brunhilde asks Göll to leave her be for a while. Inside the memorial room, Brunhilde sets up a small offering for Raiden. She notes that with this, the score is 3-2 in the Gods' favor. Shaking, Brunhilde reminds herself that she promised she wouldn't be shaken up until the very last moment. Falling to her knees, Brunhilde sadly admits that she is much weaker than she initially thought. She then says aloud that, no matter what, she has to save the Humans.

Zeus asks Buddha to fight in the Sixth Round for the Gods
At a hill far from the arena, Zeus climbs up it and finds Buddha laying under the tree, munching on some chocolate. Zeus tells him that Humanity was impressive yet again in Round 5 but Buddha seemingly doesn't listen to him. Zeus comments on how nice the breeze is before noticing that Buddha has a whole bowl full of chocolate with him. Zeus asks for one but Buddha keeps the bowl away. Zeus tries to keep grabbing one but Buddha keeps them away before quickly eating them all himself. Picking up the last chocolate left, Buddha asks why Zeus came to see him. Zeus then asks Buddha to fight in Round 6.
