Summary[]

Beelzebub's nature

"...And I simply wanted to see what sort of flowers... would grow in that beautiful soil."

Beelzebub recounts how anyone would've been fine. Picking up a rose and smelling it, he mentions how what he was looking for was right in front of him and expresses how he wanted to see what would become of the flower (referring to Hajun) planted in that beautiful soil (Zerofuku).

As the petals of the rose in his hand fall away, Beelzebub reiterates that anyone would've been fine.

At the fight, Socrates, Confucius and Jesus look shocked and horrified at what they're seeing. As a Buddhist monk cries, it's shown that Hajun's Heaven-Piercing Demon Drill completely went through Ahimsa and gouged out Buddha's left eye. Retracting his drill, Hajun praises Buddha for moving his head out of the way in time for it to only hit his left eye when Hajun tried going for his entire head. Turning his right arm into the head of a halberd, Hajun maliciously wonders aloud how much further Buddha can keep going. When Hajun charges, the Six Realms Staff changes into Akshaya and Buddha just about blocks Hajun's strike. As they exchange a number of blows, Loki remarks to Odin about how, now that Buddha's left eye is gone, his entire left side is wide open and guesses it's over.

After parrying the halberd upwards, Buddha attempts to slice Hajun's neck but the Demon Lord manages to move back in time to only get a small nick. After scoffing, Hajun slices Buddha's left shoulder and declares it to be "divine retribution."

Hajun sadism

"Divine retribution."

When Hajun charges in again, Confucius observes that Buddha changed his stance to cover his left side's blind spot. Heimdall announces a fierce melee between Buddha and Hajun has broken out before realizing Hajun is actually beginning to overwhelm Buddha. Unleashing a hail of strikes that Buddha can barely parry, Hajun repeatedly calls out for divine retribution before completely overwhelming Buddha and slicing the right side of his abdomen. Nervously sweating, Ares expresses his astonishment at Hajun leading Buddha around and questions what he is.

Mockingly scoffing, Hades says he never expected someone like Ares to understand and calls Hajun's strength greater than that of most Gods. He then reveals that long ago, Hajun was a berserker that managed to destroy half of Helheim. Hades promptly corrects himself by saying Hajun left it half-destroyed since, according to the legends, after wreaking havoc, Hajun suddenly vanished from Helheim, with no explanation. Hades admits he thought Hajun was nothing but a fairy tale by the time he came into rule of Helheim.

Beelzebub puts Hajun inside Zerofuku

Beelzebub planted Hajun inside of a sleeping Zerofuku

When Hermes questions how Hajun can be here now, Hades theorizes that someone managed to recover the detritus of Hajun that was left behind, cultivated it, formed it into something akin to a seed and secretly planted it into Zerofuku while he was asleep. Ares wonders who could ever do that and both Hades and Hermes deduce that, the only one who possesses that much technical skill and is eccentric enough to waste their time on cultivating Hajun, is Beelzebub. Watching the match from his room, Beelzebub takes a sip of coffee as he notes that this is the result of when the soil is good. Back at the fight, Hajun swings downward and Buddha blocks with all he has. Exerting with all his might, Buddha manages to parry Hajun back but the Demon Lord quickly dodges Buddha's next strike by dropping to the ground in a flash and stabbing Buddha's right foot.

Smirking, Hajun lifts his halberd upward but Buddha just about moves back in time by backflipping. With Buddha's right foot injured and seeing him huff, Hajun advises Buddha to give up now and let himself surrender to his divine retribution. As he says this, Humanity's section begins despairing about how Buddha may not win after all and the Gods' section of the crowd, while confused, cheer Hajun on as a spite against Buddha's betrayal of them. Noticing how Hajun keeps saying divine retribution, Buddha calls out for Zerofuku, saying that he must still be in there.

Hajun admits

Hajun declares that he has consumed Zerofuku entirely

However, Hajun maniacally laughs and reveals there's no point as he's already consumed Zerofuku. As a shocked Buddha listens, Hajun goes on about how Buddha shouldn't feel sad for Zerofuku because he made an excellent repast and claims that if Zerofuku, a third-rate god who's lower than dirt, could hear him now, he'd probably cry tears of joy for being worth something for once. Buddha angrily yells at him to shut up, startling both Humanity and the Gods. After the Six Realms Staff turns back to normal, Buddha vows to kill Hajun.

Because the Six Realms Staff changes shape in accordance with Buddha's emotions, it began releasing black scriptures. Right now, the only emotion at the forefront of Buddha's mind was an emotion that was thought to have been regarded as poison long ago: hatred. Thus, the Six Realms Staff changed into something that not even Buddha has seen before: Fifth Realm: Preta Realm, Holy Kannon – Salakayas. As it exudes malice energy, Loki looks on in amazement while Hermes remarks on how the weapon, so full of malice, isn't exactly fit for a Buddha. Hades realizes Buddha is aiming to end it with one blow and Hajun arrogantly calls it pitiful. He claims that giving divine retribution to insects such as Buddha, makes him feel unbelievably refreshed. When Hajun begins to charge at him, Buddha uses Karma-Destroying Samsara Cycle, swinging Salakayas directly at Hajun.

Karma-Destroying Samsara Cycle Eternal

Buddha catches Hajun off-guard with Karma-Destroying Samsara Cycle: Eternal

Still thinking nothing of it, Hajun attempts to block the attack by merely defending with his halberd. However, to Hajun's surprise, the attack actually ends up pushing him back. As he gets pushed back, Hajun realizes he can't completely block the attack and opts to deflect it so that the scythe goes over him. Believing he has a chance in close combat now that Salakayas has begun swinging around, Hajun rushes in, only for Buddha to activate Karma-Destroying Samsara Cycle: Eternal, causing the lion head on the other side of the scythe to spew fire, forcing the scythe to suddenly swing back around, much to Hajun's shock. In the aftermath, blood spills onto the ground. It's then shown that Hajun attempted to block Salakayas with his left forearm but the scythe ended up embedded into Hajun's left forearm, rather than having been blocked completely. It's also shown that Hajun has stabbed Buddha through the abdomen. Brunhilde, Göll, Soji Okita, Isami Kondo, Kojiro Sasaki, Hrist, Zeus, Hermes, Ares and Loki all react with complete shock while Hades remains stoic.

Hajun questions if Buddha has any last words. Smirking, Buddha says he'll have to repeat himself. Willingly stepping more into Hajun's halberd, deepening the weapon in his body so that he can apply more pressure with Salakayas, Buddha swears to save Humanity if the Gods won't. Looking at Hajun in the eye, Buddha once again declares that if any God wants to get in his way, he'll kill them.
