The Beginning of the End is the 63rd chapter of the "Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Record of Ragnarok" manga series.
Summary[]

Odin impressed by the strength unleashed by Hades, the same one he used to kill the Titans during the Gigantomachy
As Qin Shi Huang stands huffing, with most of his left shoulder gouged out, Heimdall declares that, in one swift stroke, Hades has completely broken through Qin Shi Huang's stonewall defense. The Gods are both in awe and unnerved by Hades' true power. Thor seems amused and Shiva, still in the middle of healing, remarks that Hades' attack wasn't bad.
Watching the match on a tablet elsewhere, Loki calls the attack brutal and says he feels sorry for Qin Shi Huang. Odin guesses this power is what drove back the Titans. Hermes says that Hades' strike must've had an unimaginable amount of power to have been able to break through a Divine Weapon like that.
Zeus admits this is his first time seeing it too but he never thought it was so powerful. Adamantine isn't surprised, only to then notice Ares crying and asks why. Ares reveals the reason he's crying is because of how Hades is like the eldest brother to all the Greek Gods and he finds the sight of him to be noble.

Due to the Völundr, Alvitr is also injured through her left shoulder as a result of Hades' attack
Behind Qin Shi Huang, the pieces of the Almighty Spaulders that were broken by Hades disappear. Shouting for Alvitr, Göll asks Brunhilde if she's okay. Brunhilde reminds Göll that they offer their all to the one they perform Völundr with, through Samavadhāna. Naturally, that comes at a price. It is revealed that Alvitr suffered a similar wound on her left shoulder. Qin Shi Huang asks her if she's alright and Alvitr replies that this isn't anything she can't handle. Qin Shi Huang apologizes since she only got hurt because of him but Alvitr assures him it's nothing compared to what he's going through right now. Alvitr decides to ask if Qin Shi Huang is okay. The Emperor says "Moumantai" and while smiling, claims his own pain is scarcely anything to bear when compared to the pain of others.
Impressed, Alvitr smiles at Qin Shi Huang. Watching, Kojiro Sasaki rubs his chin and says this doesn't look good. Soji Okita agrees and with a disappointed look, mentions that Qin Shi Huang can't use "that" anymore. Isami Kondo remarks on how it's all over, causing Hrist to demand Kojiro explain what they're all talking about.

Hades compliments Qin Shi Huang for pushing him to the limit
Kojiro points out that on top of having his trump card—the air bullets—blocked, Qin Shi Huang's left shoulder being gone means he's unable to use Heavenly Hand of Defense either. That means he has absolutely no way to guard against Hades' attacks. Pointing his spear at him, Hades instructs Qin Shi Huang to be proud as he drove him so far, to the point where he had to use Desmos. Heimdall shouts that in the face of Hades' overwhelming power, Qin Shi Huang has no way to beat him. While he says that, Qin Shi Huang keeps his eyes closed.
After a few moments, Qin Shi Huang addresses Alvitr and tells her they stand no chance at winning if they don't do something. That is why he thinks they should bet everything on this next strike. Upset, Alvitr yells at Qin Shi Huang about how pathetic that was, ordering him to say what he wants to, loud and clear, like a king should. Qin Shi Huang says she's very haughty, addressing Alvitr as his "boyish young lady." As Chun Yan and Chun Ou look on, Qin Shi Huang asserts that he wants to win, no matter what. Now smiling, Alvitr says she knows and takes Qin Shi Huang by the hand, sighing about how kings are so stubborn.

Qin Shi Huang creates the Shi Huang Goujian Sword with Alvitr's Völundr Re-Cast
Alvitr then swears to give Qin Shi Huang all her power. The last bits of the Almighty Spaulders remaining on Qin Shi Huang's body turn into light and swirl up to Qin Shi Huang's right hand, beginning to form something. Göll exclaims that Alvitr is changing and Brunhilde recounts how the power in Alvitr's name is "Host-Guard." Having recast the entirety of his Almighty Spaulders, Qin Shi Huang now wields in his right hand a sword, known as the Shi Huang Goujian Sword. When Göll expresses surprise that Alvitr became a sword, Brunhilde reveals the meaning of "Host-Guard" is the "greatest defense" and the "greatest defense," so to speak, is offense.

"Only a king can understand the mind of a king..."
Pointing his blade forward and holding it back, Qin Shi Huang calls himself the Emperor, a king among kings. Thus, Qin Shi Huang asserts a king's only pride is in protecting his people. Also smiling, Hades addresses Qin Shi Huang as a lofty king and calls him excellent. Holding his weapon back too, Hades comments on how he and Desmos will tear at that heart, as blood is exuded out of the spear. Both kings stay still, preparing for an attack. He who bore the pride of the Gods and laid down his own life, the King of the Netherworld. He who knew the pain of others and fought for the sake of his people, The King Where It All Began. Only a king could understand the mind of another king.
The two kings could both tell the end of the match was nigh. Every single person who was watching looked on in silence. Nervous, Göll gulped.

Hades overpowers Qin Shi Huang and cuts off his left arm
Right after, Hades made the first move and launched forward with Ichor: Eos. As Hades got closer, Qin Shi Huang swung the Goujian Sword in front of him and used Chi You – Sword Form: Shi Huang Yan Cut. The two attacks meet and after a short struggle, Ichor: Eos proves to be stronger, knocking the Goujian Sword back. Seeing Hades continuing to move forward, Qin Shi Huang manages to lean to the right a bit and is sent flying back as Hades' strike cuts off Qin Shi Huang's left arm, much to the horror of Brunhilde, Göll and Chun Yan.
As Hades catches his breath, Heimdall announces that his strike has overcome the King of Men. With Hrist in disbelief, Isami says that even though he staked everything on offense with that move, he was still unable to reach Hades. As Göll worries for Qin Shi Huang, Liu Bei, Cao Pi and Sun Quan all stay silent while Liu Bang grits his teeth over how this may be the end for Qin Shi Huang. As Qin Shi Huang lies on the ground, Alvitr looks over him.

Qin Shi Huang stands back up and declares that he has no intention of giving up
She laments over how, even at full power, they weren't able to hit Hades. Alvitr is then surprised to hear Qin Shi Huang chuckle. With an almost child-like smile, Qin Shi Huang says the star he saw was beautiful. Much to Hades' surprise, Qin Shi Huang uses the Goujian Sword to try and help himself stand. When he falters and falls down on one knee, Chun Yan yells at Qin Shi Huang that he's done enough. A few others of Humanity's crowd agree and also encourage Qin Shi Huang to stop and stay down. Now on his feet, Qin Shi Huang repeats how a king is one who never doubts, never yields and never relies on others. As Hades gives an impressed smile, Qin Shi Huang points the Goujian Sword forward and declares a king will never surrender.
