The Hero of Tartarus is the 77th chapter of the "Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Record of Ragnarok" manga series.
Summary[]
Heimdall declares Nikola Tesla's suicide attack failed to defeat Beelzebub, which means the winner of the eighth round are the Gods. As Beelzebub goes up the bridge to the exit, the Gods mention how Tesla really was something special, admitting he lived up to his title of "Human History's One and Only Sorcerer." The Gods then call Beelzebub something else for being able to defeat Tesla so completely like that and cheer him on, having changed their minds about him.

Beelzebub, acclaimed by the Gods for his victory, notices that there are no differences between him, the Humans and the Gods
Going through the exit, Beelzebub sighs about how the tables have turned and then smiles, bringing up how there's no great difference between the Gods, Humanity and himself. Beelzebub wonders what Hades would think.
Sitting back on his chair, Ares is glad Beelzebub managed to win but it was way too close.

Hermes admits that he too was taken aback by Tesla's Plasma Pulse Punch Cross
Pouring wine into a glass, Hermes says that Tesla's Plasma Pulse Punch Cross was a terrifying technique.
Ares agrees with him, asserting a God of War like himself couldn't understand what Tesla pulled out at the very end.
Handing Ares the glass of wine, Hermes admits Tesla only teleporting his arm was beyond his expectations, much to Ares' surprise.
At that instant, Hermes recounts how Tesla, who launched PPP from his right fist, teleported that fist behind Beelzebub just before he hit his shield. At the same time, Tesla then launched PPP from his left fist. In other words, there was a PPP unleashed on Beelzebub from both the front and back – an inescapable pincer attack, or at least, it was supposed to be. Hermes guesses Tesla used a rough-looking barrage to keep Beelzebub in place for his teleportation and to buy himself time to execute it. Ares just can't believe it as Zeus walks in.

Zeus admits to Hermes and Ares that Tesla's PPPX only failed because his opponent was Beelzebub
Zeus says that attack had surpassed even the expectations of the Gods and admits it even took him completely by surprise, much to Ares' disbelief. Sitting down on the chair Ares was on, Zeus remarks on how that would've ended it, if Tesla's opponent hadn't been Beelzebub, and as Beelzebub continues going through the exit's hallway while leaning against the wall, Zeus calls him terrifying in every sense of the word. In Humanity's crowd, Marie Curie wipes her tears as she says that PPPX was an incredible technique.
Isaac Newton compliments Tesla for utilizing every function of that suit.

Edison praises Tesla as the greatest scientist who ever lived and an incurable optimist
Albert Einstein points out how his right fist was locked right on target, even after it had been teleported. When one scientist asks how they think he managed that, Alfred Nobel guesses the Super Tesla Particles pulled the right and left fist towards each other. Marie can't believe that Tesla had kept that hidden, even from them, but Thomas Edison assumes that technique came to Tesla during the fight and he simply put it into practice. Einstein supposes that Tesla, after having seen Beelzebub sacrifice his own body for the fight, learned that he could push his own body to even higher limits. Crying, Galileo Galilei calls Tesla history's greatest scientist, for continuing to progress until the bitter end. Edison exclaims that Tesla was both a research fool and a positive idiot as even after death, he continues to light a fire in their hearts. Standing up, Edison questions how meddlesome he can be before telling the scientists they should get back to research.

Scientists return to continue their research and thus honor the memory of Tesla
Edison proclaims they must ensure science continues to progress as that is the will of Humanity's Greatest Scientist. As Dane Tesla and all the children in Humanity's crowd smile, Edison says they should move forward, towards the future, and beyond. On her knees, Göll cries over Göndul before recalling how she looked satisfied together with Tesla and how they were both smiling. Göll looks to Brunhilde for comfort before seeing her already gone. With Beelzebub's victory, the Gods take their fourth win, making the score even once more.

Brunhilde returns to her room, where she has placed holograms honoring those who died during Ragnarok
Heimdall says that both the Gods and Humanity are shaking with anticipation of the ninth round. Later on, Brunhilde arrives at the memorial room and enters. Once she does, holograms of every fighter that has died pops up as Brunhilde identifies what they represent: Lü Bu is "Joy", Adam is "Love", Poseidon is "Pride", Heracles is "Justice", Raiden Tameemon is "Passion", Zerofuku is "Innocence" and Hades is "Dignity". As a hologram of Tesla appears at the shrine, Brunhilde reveals he represents "Progress" and she says that the deceased fighters were truly spectacular warriors.

Buddha, who has been waiting for Brunhilde in her room, asks her if the initiation of Ragnarok is related to her ex-boyfriend Siegfried
Praying, Brunhilde starts to cry when Buddha, dressed in a slightly different attire and with a black eyepatch over his missing left eye, asks what's up with that. Lounging on a couch, Buddha comments on how Brunhilde is always crying whenever he comes to see her. With a lollipop, Buddha admits he's surprised as he never thought someone as indulgent as Brunhilde could also be so sentimental. As the holograms vanish, Brunhilde wipes her tears as she says that Buddha disappeared from the sickbay without a word and is mad he let himself into her room for a nap. Instantly getting up and grabbing her by the arm, Buddha reveals he came here because there's something he wanted to ask Brunhilde. As Buddha smiles, Brunhilde prepares to fill up a cup as an offering to Tesla and asks him what he wants. Buddha states it's about her ex-boyfriend, Siegfried.

Brunhilde specifies to Buddha that Siegfried is not her "ex"-boyfriend
As Brunhilde stays still and overfills the cup, Buddha reveals he heard that Siegfried has been locked up in Tartarus for a long time. He asks if there's any connection between her ex-boyfriend and Ragnarok. Brunhilde tells Buddha he's mistaken and just as Buddha teasingly says there's no point in playing dumb, Brunhilde turns to look at him. Smirking, Brunhilde tells him that "Sieg" is not her ex-boyfriend, causing Buddha's mouth to drop open and for his lollipop to fall on the floor. Walking past Buddha, Brunhilde excuses herself as she needs to prepare for the next match. Crouching, Buddha starts panicking and says to himself that Brunhilde is letting her puberty issues go overboard.
In Helheim, there is a giant pit and at the bottom of it, is Tartarus. Two guards walk through a block of cells. No.63 of Solomon's 72 Demons, Andras, looks at his phone to see Beelzebub won Round 8. No.64 of Solomon's 72 Demons, Flauros, thinks that result was obvious but Andras points out even Hades lost, meaning Humanity is on another level they didn't expect.

Siegfried admits that deciding who to root for in Ragnarok between Humans and Gods is tricky
Flauros admits it's unexpected that the score is tied at four wins and four losses, catching the attention of a prisoner. He questions who'd have thought it'd turn out like this and doesn't think anyone could've ever predicted this. Flauros asks which side the prisoner is rooting for in Ragnarok, since he's a half-God and half-Human. The prisoner considers that a hard question, based on his position. Flauros just wants him to answer when Andras remembers they're not allowed to talk to the prisoner and they run away, much to the prisoner's dismay.

"Take care of yourself... Hildy..."
Chained to a stand, the prisoner sighs about how boring it is down here before musing about how Ragnarok is going. He thinks about how Brunhilde is doing her best up there and he wonders if she's alright. Though Brunhilde looks like a diligent hard worker, the prisoner doesn't want her to overdo it. Calling her "Hildy," Siegfried hopes she takes care of herself.
