Manslayer and Godslayer is the 84th chapter of the "Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Record of Ragnarok" manga series.
Summary[]

Apollo is fine with not healing the wound across his face
As the Gods celebrate, Heimdall announces that the Gods have taken the lead once again, with their five wins against their four losses. With flowers being thrown at Apollo, Heimdall declares the Sun God continued to shine with the authority of the Gods, calling this a big win. Blowing kisses, Apollo thanks his audience. Ares is impressed that Apollo still has enough energy to answer all their cheers. Observing Apollo slightly trembling, Hermes smiles about how he shouldn't even be able to stand but as always, he has to look good in front of his fans. Chuckling, Zeus says he's always shining and is always bright, confirming that to be who Apollo is. One of the Goddesses in the crowd tells Apollo that he needs medical attention quickly, otherwise, his beautiful face is going to have a scar. A few of them offer to accompany Apollo to the healers but Apollo thanks them for their concern and reveals he's going to leave this wound as it is.
Thinking of Leonidas and Geirӧlul, Apollo considers this wound on his face to be proof of his soul-burning fight with the two as he looks off to the sky. The Spartan soldiers cry over their king's defeat but Hagis orders them all to not bend their backs as tears stream down his face. With the soldiers and members of the Gerousia looking at him, Hagis claims he can still see Leonidas' gallant back. Because of his admiration, Hagis wishes to strive to have a back like that and because they shared a fate, Hagis salutes and says they should all straighten their backs in pride too. The Spartan soldiers all stand at attention as Hagis proudly proclaims Sparta to be the strongest.

Soji regrets not being able to die in battle, succumbing to illness instead
After watching the match from Soji Okita's room, Hrist mourns the loss of her younger sister, while Kojiro Sasaki states that it was a match to be proud of. He remembers how, against the Sun God, Leonidas never wavered and faced him head-on, until the end. Agreeing it was a spectacular ending, Isami Kondo states that Leonidas was a “warrior of truth”. But Soji suddenly says that he is jealous and when Kojiro questions what he means, Soji reveals that he also wished to fall in a spectacular battle, recalling his last days on Earth, lying in bed due to illness. Isami can sympathize with Soji since he was executed instead of dying in battle. Soji continues looking at the floor in silence.
In Brunhilde's personal room, Gӧll sits against a pillar and cries for Geirӧlul. But instead of continuing to cry, Gӧll quickly stands up, holding back her tears. She addresses Brunhilde and brings up how, with this round, they've won four and lost five. Gӧll says that Humanity will be extinct with two more losses but believes it'll be okay, only for Brunhilde to yell about how she can't decide nor can she see the way forward. As Gӧll tries getting her to calm down, Brunhilde slams her fists down and grits her teeth about how Round 9 was already a critical match so they definitely can’t afford to lose the next one. Yet Brunhilde insists she just can't see the path forward.

Shinsengumi's First Division Captain, Okita Soji...is here.
Gӧll guesses she means she doesn't know which fighter she should choose next and goes over the remaining Einherjar: Grigori Rasputin, Michel Nostradamus, Simo Häyhä and Sakata Kintoki. But before Gӧll can read out the name of the last fighter, Soji himself comes into the room with Isami, declaring he shall go next. As Isami wears a headband and carries a banner that says "Truth," Soji assures Brunhilde that he will not lose to anyone. As Gӧll shows some confusion as to who he is, Brunhilde stares at Soji for a few moments before agreeing to his proposition, deciding to leave victory in Round 10 to Humanity’s strongest "Manslayer." Isami grins as well as Soji, who thanks Brunhilde. Drawing his katana, Soji declares he's going forth as the Shinsengumi's First Division Captain.
Meanwhile, in the Chief Gods’ Conference Room of the Valhalla Arena, Zeus, accompanied by Ares, sits at a table with thirteen chairs. Shiva, Thor, Odin and Loki sit in four of the chairs while an unknown God sits in a fifth. With four more of the chairs draped with black cloths to signify the Gods Fighters who lost (Poseidon, Heracles, Zerofuku and Hades), Loki leans back on his chair and taunts Shiva by saying he should still be resting since he was put through the ringer, adding that his injuries must still hurt. Having recovered his missing three arms, albeit in bandages, Shiva claims his injuries are already better and wonders if Loki is picking a fight. Loki says he's scary but Odin tells him that's enough. With Thor sitting in silence, Loki questions why everyone is acting so scared. Ares asks if Apollo and Beelzebub are still getting treated and Zeus insists they are since they took some bad ones during their fights, though he supposes Beelzebub wouldn’t have come here anyway.

Anubis volunteers himself for Round 10
Shiva questions what they're all doing here and after noting not everyone is here, Zeus reveals he's called this meeting to decide how to end all this. He points out that they need only two more wins and Ragnarok is over. Putting his hand up, Anubis excitedly volunteers himself to go next. Running on the table on all fours and sitting in front of Zeus, Anubis smiles about how it should be okay for him to go next since he’s been patient all this time. At this rate, he worries he may not even get to fight, which doesn’t feel right to him. Showing off his fangs, Anubis snarls, threateningly asking if it’s okay for him to fight. His behavior scares Ares while Zeus just laughs. Zeus brings up how they did plan to have Anubis fight tenth anyway and wonders what the Norsemen have to say. Loki doesn't mind letting Anubis go up if he really wants to and asks Odin what he thinks. Odin stays silent in thought, causing Thor to stare at him. Odin agrees to let Anubis fight next, prompting Anubis to celebrate that everyone said it's okay. Anubis dances about how happy he is while Ares points out he let his real self leak out already. But suddenly, the door opens and someone comes through, asking them to wait a moment. It’s revealed to be the last member of the Gods' chosen fighters, Susano'o no Mikoto, who announces that the one who's going next is him. Ares is taken aback by Susano'o's pressure as just standing next to him makes him feel like his body will be crushed.

Susano'o's aura makes Ares feels like he'll be crushed
Upon hearing he wanted to go next, Anubis teases Susano'o that he's too late as it's already been decided that it's his turn. Susano'o acknowledges that but says he is going next regardless. As Loki and Shiva stare at him with confusion, Anubis angrily reminds Susano'o that they decided the one going up is him and Susano'o says he didn't know. Getting even more angry, Anubis asserts to Susano'o that he's going next and that Susano'o can go after him. Apologizing to him, Susano'o smiles about how he didn't know, which really gets on Anubis' nerves. Shiva remarks on how he can understand how Anubis feels and complains about how some people want to cut in line, no matter how much trouble it causes. Zeus agrees with Shiva that this is troublesome, prompting Shiva to point out he was talking about Zeus.

Susano'o believes he is the most fitting opponent for Soji
When Susano'o says once more, that the one going next is him, Anubis lays back on the table and gives up, letting Susano'o take his turn. Zeus asks if he's really alright with that and Anubis says he is, crying over how he couldn't get through to him. Zeus is curious to know why Susano'o fighting this round is so important to him and Susano'o reveals he heard Humanity’s next fighter was its strongest Manslayer, Soji Okita, which catches Zeus' attention. Ares questions how Susano'o even knows who's fighting next on the other side and Hermes comes in, explaining he sneaked a peek and saw that Brunhilde chose Soji, informing Susano'o of it right after. Ares tells Hermes that's no good and that he's making a mess of everything, calling him a disgrace to the Gods, which Hermes accepts with a smile. If the opponent is Humanity's strongest Manslayer, Susano'o firmly believes that Soji should face the Gods' strongest "Godslayer," so it can be no-one but him. According to the Eimeiroku: A Study on Imperial Martial Arts, the creator of Kendo is none other than Susano'o himself.
