Hundred Seals is the 19th episode overall of the "Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Record of Ragnarok" anime and the 7th episode of Season 2.

Synopsis[]

Stepping into the sumo ring to take on Tameemon Raiden is the God of Destruction, the Destroyer himself: Supreme Lord Shiva.

Plot[]

Shiva's wives Parvati, Kali, Durga and son, Ganesha, cheer for him and wish him luck.

Shiva turns towards Raiden and sees a frog holding a basket with salt. He wonders what is going on, but as Raideen takes some and the frog explains he will be gone in a second, Shiva realizes it's some sumo ceremony and accepts it. Raiden throws the salt and the crowd cheers.

He claps, causing a gust of wind, and takes a sumo's stance, apologizing to Shiva for making him wait. Shiva guesses the fight might be fun. Raiden then runs towards him and dropkicks him in the face. Shiva gets dizzy for a moment from the kick but still stands. Raiden then throws a punch, but Shiva blocks it. However, Raiden immediately follows it with a Russian hook and punches Shiva, causing him to fall on his knees.

He grabs Shiva's head, intending to finish the fight, and knees him in the face; however, Shiva blocks the hit. He then grabs Raiden's hands and, using his second pair of arms, punches him in the chest and sends him flying. Shiva enjoys the fight and wants to keep fighting. Raiden wonders why everyone loves to fight that much. Shiva states there isn't anything more fun than that and he doesn't know anyone who doesn't like a good fight.

Raiden then takes a more serious pose. In the Shinano Province of Japan, January 1767, Hanemon and Ken look at their three years old son, Tarōkichi, and wonder why he still can't stand up. After they come back home, they find Tarōkichi standing up for the first time in his life. The two get excited, but as Tarōkichi takes it first step, he feels great pain as his legs, arms and ribs all break. His muscles were too powerful and they smashed his bones.

If left like this, his muscle would eventually crush him to death. Tarōkichi kept trying to walk and eventually developed new muscles that restrained his old muscles. The muscle shell he created was known as the Hundred Seals. Raiden releases the seal of the Hundred Seals and his muscles start rampaging. Shiva wonders if he is playing to destroy himself. Raiden then calls Thrud, saying he is counting on her.

Raiden's Völundr, the Supramuscular Exoskeletal Sumo Belt that brings his muscles under control. Brunhilde is excited about it and explains that Raiden's muscles developed at an abnormal fast pace. Thanks to his Hundred Seals, he was barely able to keep his body under control. For the first time in his life, Raiden will be able to fight with all his strength.

Raiden tells Shiva to not break on him as he doesn't know what will happen when he uses his full strength. This angers Shiva, but a moment later Raiden attacks him and sends him flying.

Raiden proceeds with a barrage of punches and follows with a Kiku-Ichimonji, knocking down Shiva. The Yokozuna in the audience are overwhelmed as Kajinosuke Tanikaze is happy that he is finally able to see Raiden fight without limitations.

Shiva barely stands and the god realizes he took damage. Raiden decides to finish it using Dakijizo and headbutts Shiva, however Shiva also headbutts him, which weakens Raiden's hit. Shiva then starts attacking, unleashing a barrage of punches.

The Yokozuna realize that each punch has the impact of a cannon. Raiden falls on his knees, stating that Shiva is indeed hard to fight against. He grabs one of Shiva's arms, who attempts to get free, but Raiden doesn't let go.

He pumps his muscles, focusing them on Shiva's arm and uses Midarebotan, crushing it. Shiva kicks him away and Raiden notes that was a stupid decision as he could have ripped of his arm.

The sight of Shiva's broken arm shocks the gods and they fear Shiva may end up losing.

However, the Indian gods knew Shiva better and are sure of his win as his fists are imbued with the 1116 souls of the Indian gods. Shiva has never let his friends down and as they cheer for him, he states he now has to win. Shiva tells Raiden that he will have to crush him. He throws a massive swing, but Raiden dodges. Ares wonders what was with that punch and Hermes explains with his arm crushed, Shiva lost control of his balance.

Shiva misses again and as he leaves himself wide open Raiden punches him. Shiva recovers quickly and throws a punch at Raiden, who realizes that his fist has gotten heavier. Raiden starts punching Shiva, but while taking the punches, Shiva lands a blow on Raiden's stomach. The two then grab each other's head and starts headbutting themselves time after time. Shiva wonders how long it was that he was that fired up and recalls his time with Rudra.
