In the ancient era, giants of Jötunheim launched an attack on Asgard with an army larger than anything seen before. The warriors of Asgard had become complacent over centuries as their battle experience had dwindled until their defense had waned. Asgard had been brought to the edge of destruction, many warriors and citizens were killed and eaten by the giants. Forseti was hiding in the castle in despair. As the giants were knocking on castle doors, Thor appeared and wiped out the entire army of 66 Jötunn himself. Forseti and the remaining survivors who witnessed Thor's strength praised him for killing the invaders and told tales of his glory since then.
