Hagis was a Spartan soldier that followed Leonidas into the Battle of Thermopylae.

Appearance[]

Hagis appears as a tall, very muscular young man. His facial features include an oval face and a broad nose. His hair is of a light color and Hagis wears it in an atypical style, preferring to have it into two thin braids, trailing along his neck, his bangs sharp and overlapping in a line between his eyes, his stray hairs also messy, and the top of his hair somewhat resembling a rose.

As a Spartan soldier, he wears a traditional Spartan armor with weapon belts. Underneath it, he wears a robe with rugged sleeves. Finally, around his head is a leather-like headband.

Personality[]

At first, Hagis was like many Spartans of his time: he obediently followed the word of the oracle and fell in line with everyone else at the time, finding it more comfortable that way. By his own admittance, he "went with the flow" and thought it was fine for someone else to decide fate for him and others.

However, Hagis was inspired to act differently on the day he witnessed Leonidas defy the orders of the Gerousia and go off to fight the Persians alone. Hagis thought Leonidas was a fool yet he was so captivated by the sight of Leonidas' back, that he abandoned his duties as guard and ran after his king in tears. From that point on, Hagis became a fierce follower of Leonidas, alongside the other 298 Spartans who would later join their king in the Battle of Thermopylae, despite the fact that they, and Hagis, knew it would mean their deaths. In the afterlife, Hagis would remark on how that day made him feel like he was truly "alive."

During the ninth round, Hagis stood at the forefront of Leonidas' supporters and repeatedly cheered him on. Similarly to Leonidas, Hagis and the rest of the Spartan soldiers expressed disdain whenever Apollo seemed to be looking down on the Spartan King. When Leonidas lost and was sent to Niflhel, though he cried, Hagis assured him that he was the absolute coolest in the history of Sparta and kept his back straightened, believing in Leonidas' words that Sparta is the strongest.

480 BC, Hagis would act as a guard for Gerousia. On the day the elders would have a council, after sneezing, he would assume he has a cold. Silently, he would glare at the meeting, complaining about how long it is.

As he would spectate with glares and listens, Hagis would innerly sigh about how hopeless the situation is, due to the elders' refusal to invoke the wrath of Apollo. However, it was until Leonidas arrived and decided to "rebel", shattering apart Apollo's giant statue. Hagis, who happened to witness this, only gave a dumbfounded and shocked look. As Leonidas then proceeded to leave and walk past him, the young Spartan felt motivated and encouraged, something his fellow Spartans shared, he decided to join Leonidas.

Arriving at the Thermopylae with a small army of 300 Spartans, Hagis would give Leonidas a large shield, while declaring he and the rest will fight alongside him. As the battle began, Hagis would occasionally take peeks at Leonidas, staring at his king's back, getting excited and encouraged just by seeing it, refering to it as "incredibly cool".

Given how loyal he is to Leonidas and a follower of the Spartan codex, Hagis likely participated in his fellow Spartans' relentless and intense training, and likely celebrated by flexing his muscles, when Leonidas accepted Brunhilde's offer to represent Humanity in Round 9.

Throughout the fight, Hagis would be supporting Leonidas, once again encouraged by just seeing his back, and getting impressed and cheerful whenever he saw his powerful attacks. He would also get worried for him, as shown by how he considered Apollo's style of fighting to be "unfair", he and his fellow Spartans suggesting a closer combat.

As Apollo actually decided to do it, Hagis and his fellow Spartans would get angered and frustrated, considering what happened to them to be the worst type of humiliation.

After the climax of Round 9, in Leonidas' final moments, crying and mourning with the rest of the Spartan warriors, Hagis would reassure his king he was always the greatest Spartan out of all of them. Because of his immense loyalty and admiration of Leonidas, Hagis would pay his tribute and respect to him, by standing tall with pride and glare in the direction of his back, the rest of the Spartans soon joining him.

Abilities[]

Physical Abilities[]

Superhuman Endurance and Stamina: Hagis, despite being a human, has shown to have a superhuman level of endurance. Despite having a cold, he was confident in continuing to guard Gerousia, and furthermore, run miles without a stop to reach Leonidas, while being in armor and carrying around a large shield. Another impressive feat, he was able to fight in the Battle of Thermopylae, he and the rest of the 300 Spartans driving back the 300 000 Persian soldiers.

Fighting Style[]

Skilled Spearman: Hagis seemed to be a skillful spearman, having enough skill to act as a guard of Gerousia, and participate in the Battle of Thermopylae, successfully defeating Persian soldiers, while driving the Persian army back, despite the vast difference in numbers of soldiers.

Golden Age: Being a Human soul in the afterlife, Hagis maintains the appearance and skills that he had during what he considers was his peak.
