Of course not...I just got that feeling from watching. Dear Brother.

Hermes to Ares in Expulsion from Paradise

Hermes is the 10th of the 12 Gods of Olympus. He is a Messenger of the Gods.

Appearance[]

Hermes is a tall, handsome man dressed in a butler uniform. He has a mop of neatly combed black hair and tattoos of unknown design above his left eye and under his right eye. He wears white gloves and has a small mole on the right side of his chin.

Personality[]

Hermes has a detached, calculating, yet sometimes playful personality. He rarely shows strong emotions, and when he does, it is usually of surprise, like when a Human bests a God. Like Zeus, he genuinely enjoys seeing a good fight, and gets excited at the prospect of one.

While seemingly friendly, the relationship between Ares and Hermes seems to be defined by Ares trying to keep his image to his younger brother and failing, with Hermes humoring whatever Ares does and says out of politeness.

Hermes composed a requiem for all the dead of Ragnarok

Hermes reveals that composing a requiem for all the fallen of Ragnarok is the best way to pay homage

Like most deities, he believes they are superior to humans, but unlike most of the other gods, he acknowledges the potential and strength humanity possess. He has even given praises to the humanity's fighters from time to time.

He even wrote musical requiems for the fallen human fighters of Ragnarok, showing his respect for them.

Abilities[]

Overall Abilities: Hermes has not show all of his powers, but as one of the Twelve Olympians, he can be assumed to be quite powerful. He is responsible for making the presentation of Zeus before his battles.

Mental Abilities[]

Keen Intellect: Hermes almost always correctly assesses the intentions and tactics of participants of Ragnarok during matches, only needing Zeus's explanation on a few rare occasions. He was able to understand Adam's counterattack when he countered Zeus' time-surpassing punch, an attack which Ares couldn't perceive or even understand.

Supernatural Abilities[]

Semi-Immortality: As a God, Hermes is incapable of dying due to old age.

Divine Physiology: As a God, Hermes possesses physical abilities far greater than any ordinary Human. His body can not be harmed by mortal weapons, however, he can still be harmed by unarmed attacks from individuals with superhuman strength and Divine Weapons.

Matter Manipulation: Hermes is able to manipulate matter to an extent as demonstrated when he materialized several violins so that he could play them for one of his performances.

Telekinesis: Hermes has displayed the ability to control and move objects without touching them. He can use this power to levitate and play multiple violins at the same time, so that he can make his musical performances even more god-like. He also uses his telekinesis to manipulate a book and a pen to write a song while playing his violin.[2]

Miscellaneous Abilities[]

Expert Violinist: Hermes is a supremely talented violinist. Famous musicians like Bach and Mozart described his performance of "Air on the G-String" as divine.

Skilled Composer: Hermes is not only a talented musician, but he is also a very skilled composer as well. He has written a requiem for each of the Ragnarok participants who have died as a way of honoring them.[3]

Equipment[]

Hermes-violin Divine Violins: Hermes uses a violin during his musical performances and can materialize several of them to play at the same time. Hermes can play them with god-like skill, being able to make divine performances worth of praise from talented musicians (like Bach and Mozart).

Trivia[]

  • In the original Greek Mythology, while Apollo is the God of Music, this title was a gift from Hermes as a sign of friendship. This might explain why it's Hermes' music performance that heralds Zeus' entrance, and not Apollo's.
