Hokusai Katsushika is a Japanese artist, ukiyo-e painter and printmaker of the Edo period.

Hokusai is a young male with black hair and eyes. He is very muscular and uses white clothes and a piece of white cloth (on his head) as his choice of clothing.
Personality[]
Hokusai appears to have a calm demeanor, at least while painting. Like most artists, it can be assumed that he is quite passionate about his art.

Hokusai's work transformed the ukiyo-e artform from a style of portraiture largely focused on courtesans and actors into a much broader style of art that focused on landscapes, plants, and animals.

- The name Hokusai means "north" (北) (hoku) and "purification/religious purification, Buddhist food, room, worship, avoid, alike" (斎) (sai).
- Hokusai's surname Katsushika means "arrowroot" (葛) (katsu) and "decoration/decorate, ornament, adorn, embellish" (飾) (shika).
