Hozoin Inshun is a warrior-monk and the founder of the Hōzōin-ryū spearmanship style.
Appearance[]
Hozoin Inshun wears a buddhist robe. His head is cleanly shaved, and he has an urna on his forehead.
Personality[]
Unlike most Sasaki's supporters, Hozoin is relatively subdued and quiet. However, when Sasaki arrived on scene, he shed tears at the sight of the man's martial prowess.
Plot[]
Ragnarok: Third Round[]
When Kojiro Sasaki is announced as the third fighter for mankind and as the greatest swordsman, Iori Miyamoto disagrees and states that title should be for his father, Musashi Miyamoto. Seijuro Yoshioka agrees as Musashi had defeated him. However, Hozoin wants to hear what Musashi thinks. Moments later, Kojiro calms the waves with his sword, moving the swordmasters to tears and making Musashi comment that Kojiro had achieved all sword practitioners aim for, The Number One Under the Sun.
All the sword practitioners show their support for Kojiro, knowing that he has yet to show his full skills, which eventually leads to Kojiro's win.
Abilities[]
Expert martial artist and spearman: Inshun Hozoin was a very famous and skilled martial artist. He was accomplished at the Hōzōin-ryū sōjutsu School of spearmanship and was the founder of the Hōzōin-ryū spearmanship style.
Supernatural Abilities[]
Golden Age: As a human soul in the afterlife, Hozoin posses the appearance and skills that he had during his Golden Age, the age in which he was at his peak.
Etymology[]
- The name Inshun means "seed, offspring, paternal blood, issue" (胤) (in) and "type of morning glory, rose of Sharon, althea" (舜) (shun).
- Inshun's surname Hozoin means "treasure house" (宝蔵) (hozo) and "hospital" (院) (in).
