Kajinosuke Tanikaze is a sumo wrestler recognized as the fourth yokozuna. He is also the coach of Raiden Tameemon.
Appearance[]
Kajinosuke is a heavily muscled and fat middle-aged Japanese man. His dark hair is tied into a large bun chonmage. He has unusual facial hair that circles across his puffy cheeks and around his mouth. He wears a loincloth and a traditional Japanese dressing gown in his appearances.
Personality[]
He's a harsh superior to lower-ranked sumo wrestlers and does not tolerate displays of weakness or lack of discipline. Nonetheless, he profoundly loves sumo as a martial art and respects those who possess talent for it, such as Raiden Tameemon.

Past[]
He tested Raiden Tameemon's strength when the latter arrived at Urakaze Stable to become a sumo wrestler. Impressed by the young man's raw power, he decided to make him as his disciple despite previously vowing to not take any new pupils.
With his coaching, Raiden became the highest-rated sumo wrestler in history.
Ragnarok: Fifth Round[]
Kajinosuke supported and cheered for Raiden Tameemon during the fifth round of Ragnarok.
After Raiden's death, when many other sumo wrestlers in the audience were falling into despair, he fought back his own tears and yelled at them to give Raiden a dignified farewell.

Golden Age: As a human soul in the afterlife, Kajinosuke posses the appearance and skills that he had during his Golden Age, the age in which he was at his peak.
Skilled Sumo Wrestler: Kajinosuke is one of the most skilled sumo wrestler in Japan's history. He is officially recognized as the fourth yokozuna, and the first to be awarded the title of yokozuna within his own lifetime. He achieved great fame and though championships were not awarded in his era, he achieved the mathematical equivalent of 21 tournament championships.
Etymology[]
- The name Kajinosuke means "sculling oar" (梶) (kaji), "this" (之) (no) and "help, rescue, assist/assistant/assistance" (助) (suke).
- Kajinosuke's surname Tanikaze means "valley" (谷) (tani) and "wind, breeze, way, manner, blaster, gale, gust, sirocco, method" (風) (kaze).
