— Proteus to Hades in King vs. King
|
Proteus is the God of Rivers and oceanic bodies of water. He is a prophetic sea-god that can be found on the Greek Pantheon and a servant of Poseidon.
Appearance[]
Proteus appears as an elderly but dashing man wearing an outfit befitting a butler. He has a neatly slicked back hair and fins for ears along with markings near under the eyes. A cross-shaped marking is on his forehead.
Personality[]
Initially, Proteus presents himself as calm and level-headed deity, bowing deferentially to Hades and speaking to him in a formal manner. However, much like the other Gods, he looked down on the Humans and wished for their extinction.
He is very loyal to Poseidon, begging Hades to avenge his deceased lord and uses the remnants of the late God's weapon in battle. He even displayed unrefined glee whenever Hades managed to gain the upper hand against his opponent showing his eagerness to have Poseidon avenged.
Plot[]
Seventh Round[]
While Hades was on his way to the arena, armed with his bident, Proteus appeared behind him and asked for a moment of his time.
Hades identified him as Poseidon's servant before asking what he wants. Proteus then presented the remnants of Poseidon's trident after his battle with Kojiro Sasaki and begged Hades to take the last bits of his lord with him to kill the Humans who killed Poseidon. Hades told Proteus that his little brother wouldn't like anyone avenging him before taking the remnant regardless, fusing it with his bident. Crying in joy, Proteus thanked Hades before assuring Poseidon that Hades will surely avenge him. Proteus was then seen smiling happily when Hades overwhelmed Qin Shi Huang with Persephone Titan.
He was later seen watching the end of the Round.
Abilities[]
Overall Abilities: As the sole servant of Poseidon, it can be presumed Proteus is quite powerful given that the Tyrant of the Ocean disdains the idea of having supporters which implied Proteus must either strong enough to earn his respect or just devoted enough for him not to mind.
Supernatural Abilities[]
Semi-Immortality: As a God, Proteus has a limitless lifespan and does not age.
Divine Physiology: As a God, Proteus possesses physical abilities far greater than any ordinary Human. His body cannot be harmed by mortal weapons; however, he can still be harmed by unarmed attacks from individuals with superhuman strength and Divine Weapons.
Hydrokinesis: As the Greek God of rivers, it can be assumed that Proteus can manipulate water just like Poseidon did when making his entrance in the third round of Ragnarok though as Poseidon's servant, his power over water would be vastly inferior to the King of the Seas. It's also unknown if he can use it for combat as well given that Poseidon didn't use any water during his fight.
