Of course, Sister. With pleasure.

Randgriz to Brunhilde in Archrival

Randgriz is the fourth of the 13 Valkyrie sisters who performed Völundr with Lü Bu during the first round of Ragnarok.

Appearance[]

Randgriz is a beautiful woman with long and wide light brown hair that reaches her waist with a double-ended golden spear hairpin on the back of her head while she has chin-length bangs split on either side and lime-green eyes.

She wears a classical white and black dress adorned with golden plates on both sides of her waist, a turquoise pendant with a dark blue neckscarf attached to it and black and white high shaft boots on high heels with metal shin guards.

Personality[]

Not much can be said about Randgriz's character due to her limited screen time, although one of her more noticable personality traits is her loyalty to Brunhilde. When she was requested to partner with Lü Bu, she stated that she was willing to do so and remained with the warlord even in his last moments when faced with certain death.

She appears to be a very kind-hearted person whose compassion and understanding nature was likely what made her compatible with Lü Bu, despite their completely opposite personalities.

Plot[]

Gods' Council[]

The 13 Valkyries gather

Randgriz and the other Valkyries answer Brunhilde's call for Ragnarok

Somewhere between the Gods' Council and the start of Ragnarok, Randgriz and the other 10 Valkyries met with Brunhilde and Göll to help them fight against the Gods. Brunhilde called her first and asked her if she knew about Thor's Divine Weapons. Randgriz correctly identified Mjolnir and Járngreipr, the gauntlets Thor uses to wield Mjolnir. Knowing they have to overcome those armaments in order to win the first round, Brunhilde asked Randgriz to pledge her body for this purpose. Randgriz gratefully accepted. She later performed Völundr with Lü Bu and became his Sky Piercer.

First Round[]

Randgriz Defeated

Randgriz is killed by Thor's Geirröd Thor's Hammer

Randgriz fought alongside Lü Bu in Round 1 of Ragnarok, serving as his Sky Piercer. Due to Randgriz's name meaning "Shield Breaker", Lü Bu was able to use the Sky Piercer to shatter Thor's Járngreipr with ease. At the climax of the fight, Thor and Lü Bu clashed with their ultimate moves – Geirröd Thor's Hammer and Sky Eater, respectively – and Thor's move prevailed, with him breaking the Sky Piercer and as a result, the Sky Piercer turned back into a wounded, unconscious Randgriz.

After Thor killed Lü Bu's army at their willingness to follow their lord, Randgriz's body crumbled into dust alongside Lü Bu and his army.

Abilities[]

Supernatural Abilities[]

Divine Physiology: As a demigod, it can be assumed that Randgriz possesses physical abilities far greater than any ordinary human. Her body can not be harmed by mortal weapons, but she can still be harmed by unarmed attacks from individuals with superhuman strength and by Divine Weapons.

Semi-Immortality: As a demigod, Randgriz has a limitless lifespan and does not age.

Common Destiny: The power of "Common Destiny" allows a person to bring out their full potential by entrusting their fate to another. Before Ragnarok, Brunhilde sought Buddha in order to learn more about this power. The Valkyries give their wielders the power to harm gods by entrusting them with their lives.

  • Völundr: The ability to turn into any weapon based on the wielder's preference. Randgriz's Völundr has a unique property reflected in the translation of her name, which means "Shield Breaker" (盾を壊す者, Tate o Kowasu Mono), which meant she had the ability to destroy any form of defense. This ability was demonstrated when Lü Bu used his Sky Piercer to destroy one of Thor's Járngreipr, which were stated to be the strongest armor in Heaven.

Etymology[]

  • The name Randgriz can translate to "Shield Breaker", which is suitable considering her Völund form's ability to pierce any defense.
