Sun Jian, also known as The Tiger of Jiang Dong, is a military general and warlord who lived during the late Eastern Han dynasty of China. He allied himself with Yuan Shu in 190 when warlords from eastern China formed a coalition to oust Dong Zhuo, a tyrannical warlord who held Emperor Xian as his puppet.
Appearance[]
Sun Jian appears as a young and handsome athletic man wearing a fur-collared jacket with rich clothing underneath and a pair of vambraces. His hair is long and tied up into a ponytail.
Personality[]
In spite of his social status, Sun Jian is a laid-back and carefree young man. He is also somewhat perverse as he made a vulgar joke in the midst of battle. He is also methodical during battle, choosing to watch his soldiers and other fought before making a proper move. He is also not one to shirk in the face of greater power, choosing to take on Lü Bu although knowing he may die.
Plot - Flying General[]
Past[]
At the young age of 17, Sun Jian gained glory by obliterating the pirates of Jiangdong. He quickly gained fame through his charisma and enormous power, becoming an important political figure in china and acquiring a powerful army.
The coalition against Dong Zhuo[]
In AD 189, Dong Zhuo turned the emperor into his puppet and decided to conquer all of china. In order to stop him, warlords from all over the country made an alliance and revolted against him.
The war started and soon after Hua Xiong made an advance in order to gain the advantage. Huang Gai tried to stop him, but he failed and had to be saved by Sun Jian.
Sun Jian then easily defeated Hua Xiong, winning the battle in the process. After that Sun Jian ended up meeting Lü Bu in the battlefield, however before they could start fighting they are forced to retreat.
Despite emerging victorious in their first battle, Sun Jian and his friends did not celebrated. They were analyzing the situation and came to the conclusion that if they don't kill Lü Bu they will never win the war. Sun Jian then gives an emotional speech in order to lift his friends morale.
Battle of the Hulao Gate[]
After that, Sun Jian and the rest of the alliance made their way to the Hulao Gate. The commanding officer of Hulao Pass, Lü Bu, came out in person and challenged all comers. Fang Yue was the first volunteer, and was killed in the duel within an instant. Many generals would take on Lü Bu's challenge and all of them would lose. Sun Jian them became one of the volunteers.
He analyze more than 39 forms of attack that Lü Bu would use in order to try predicting his movements, however Lü Bu ended up using an incomplete version of the Sky Eater and Sun Jian realized that he was gonna lose. However Zu Mao took the attack for him, allowing Sun Jian to survive and attack Lü Bu.
Zu Mao ended up dying and Sun Jian was gravely injured, and they only managed to cause a shallow injury on Lü Bu. However, Lü Bu admits defeat and lets the alliance pass through the gates.
Sun Jian swore vengeance towards Lü Bu for killing his friend. The two of them would never meet again, since Sun Jian died two years later at another war. It is unknown if his injures from the fight with Lü Bu had a role in his death.

Physical Abilities[]
Immense Strength: Sun Jian is quite strong, managing to defeat Hua Xiong with a single sword stroke and splitting him in the middle. He also managed to break one of Lü Bu's halberd and cut him with the same blow, making him bleed. He was strong enough to compete with Lü Bu (albeit briefly).
Immense Speed & Reflexes: Sun Jian possesses great speed and reflexes, easily deflecting Hua Xiong's blows and defeating him in an instant with a single strike.
Mental Abilities[]
Expert Tactician: Sun Jian is an expert strategist, knowing how to analyze the enemy and determine the best way to lead him to victory. During his encounter with Lü Bu, he simulated the confrontation against him, seeing himself through the 9 generals Lü Bu had faced and defeated previously. When he challenged him personally, Sun Jian was able to make over 39 predictions of what attacks Lü Bu would use just by seeing the 9 previous attacks that he had used to kill his previous opponents.
Fighting Abilities[]
Swordsmanship: Sun Jian is an expert swordsman, he uses a sabre as his weapon of choice. He managed to defeat several enemies with his sword blows, including the barbarian Hua Xiong.
Horsemanship: As a warrior from the Three Kingdoms period, it can be assumed that Sun Jian was skilled at riding a horse. He can be seen riding a horse multiple times.
Expert Acrobat: Sun Jian can perform quick and precise stunts and jumps. By combining his athleticism with his swordsmanship, Sun Jian can attack his enemies from irregular angles and make his movements more unpredictable.
Supernatural Abilities[]
Aura Detection: Sun Jian has displayed the ability to sense the presence of others just by feeling their aura. This was seen when he could detect Lü Bu without him even being visible.
Menacing Aura: While not as skilled as Lu Bu, Sun Jian can manipulate his aura. This was shown during his duel with Lü Bu, where he was able to make his own aura collide with Lü Bu's aura, creating powerful gusts of wind in the process.
