Titans were the rulers of the universe before the Twelve Gods of Olympus dethroned them under Zeus' leadership.

Overview[]

Titans have a very humanoid appearance, being very similar to that of a Human. However, they are a lot bigger, being taller than any God and Demon seen so far (with the possible exception of Chiyou). Though they don't appear to have the same monstrous size that can be seen in the Giants. In the anime, some Titans appear to have green, purple or yellow as a skin color.

Origins and History[]

Titans escape Tartarus

The Titans during the Gigantomachy

The origin of the Titans is currently unknown, but what is known is that they used to rule the universe (possibly ever since the beginning of time).

However, at some point, the Titanomachy Tournament occurred, in which the Titans fought against the Gods. The Titans lost the tournament and Kronos, the strongest of the Titans, was killed by Zeus, his youngest son. As a consequence of their defeat, the Titans were dethroned by the Gods.

After the Titanomachy, the remaining Titans were imprisoned on the pits of Tartarus. However, they would eventually try to escape during the Gigantomachy, seeing the war between the Greek Gods and the Giants as an opportunity to defeat the Gods once and for all. Their plans would be stopped by Hades, who single-handedly defeated a large number of the Titans.

Later, they would be freed by Adamas and would aid him in his attempt to overthrow Zeus. After Adamas' death, at the hands of Poseidon, it is unclear what happened to the Titans.

Society[]

Culture[]

Similar to the Gods, the Titans appear to pay respect to strength since Kronos and the other Titans were willing to participate in a one-on-one tournament with the Gods, instead of using tactics to defeat them.

Abilities[]

Superhuman Physiology: Similar to the Gods, the Titans have physical abilities far greater than most Humans.

Semi-Immortality: Similar to the Gods, the Titans appear to be incapable of dying due to old age. As the living embodiment of time, Kronos is possibly just as old as time itself.

Relationships[]

Gods[]

While the relationship between Gods and Titans is mostly unknown, it was shown that the two species had a fighting tournament before Ragnarok, known as the Titanomachy. Due to this fact, it can be assumed that the two species saw each other as rivals and enemies. However, the two species can work together. This was seen when the Titans decided to aid Adamas in his attempt to overthrow Zeus.
