Toraji is easily defeated by Tarōkichi Seki with a single attack

When Tarōkichi was 5, Toraji invited him to play sumo with him, as he was doing with other children of the village. While thinking about going easy on the boy because of his weak constitution, he was blown out of the ring with a single hit of the future champion. Shocked and scared, he called him "a monster", making Tarōkichi isolate himself and wonder why he wasn't like other people. He will later be reassured by his mother, and will start to use his strength for the sake of the weak and poor.
